About Study Course
Objective
Provide students with basic knowledge and practical skills in patient examination and assessment of health status by developing the skills to acquire a history, perform objective examination of the patient’s general and systems, and identify the main signs of health disorders in patients of different ages.
Prerequisites
Knowledgeof basic biology at the level of secondary education.Basic knowledge of the structure and functions of the human organism, which are acquired in study courses in anatomy and physiology.Skillswere able to use medical terminology at the basic level.Ability to analyse study materials and use study literature in independent workabilityto use knowledge acquired in parallel studies in anatomy and physiology within the meaning of patient examination methods.Preparedness to develop professional communication and clinical observation skills with the patient
Learning outcomes
1.After completion of the study course, the student shall:
- explain the principles of the patient examination and the sequence of the examination;
- describe the subjective and objective examination methods of the patient;
- describe the basic principles of clinical examination of different organ systems;
- explains the special features of examining children and pregnant women.
1.After completion of the study course, the student shall be able to:
- acquire and structure the patient’s history
- use basic patient examination methods (inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation)
- conduct an examination of the patient’s general and systems;
- document and interpret the results of the investigation.
1.After completion of the study course, the student shall be able to:
- integrate anatomy and physiology knowledge into patient examination;
- communicate professionally with the patient during the examination process;
- assess patient health changes in patients of different ages.
