Rīga Stradiņš University informs that the 2021/2022 academic year will start on 30 August 2021. Because of the university’s positive experience with online studies during the pandemic in achieving learning outcomes, as well as the need to ensure the control of student flow on site, the study process will take place on site during the 2021/2022 academic year. Nevertheless, up to 50% of studies can be organised remotely in social science study programmes, and up to 20% in medical and health care study programmes.

Konsula iela

With the completion of the construction of the rooftop rafters, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Pharmaceutical Study and Science Complex has taken shape in Pārdaugava, at 21 Konsula iela. In order to celebrate the end of this phase of construction, the University is inviting the media to the topping out ceremony on Thursday, 26 August, at 11:00. The multi-storey building has a total area of 7151 m2 and will house modern study facilities and a world-class science centre, including a research laboratory for finished dosage forms.

First Latvian Ethnobotanical Study

Inga Sīle’s doctoral thesis, Medicinal Plants in the Records of Latvian Folk Medicine and Analysis of Their Practical Applications, compiles the medicinal plants mentioned in Latvian folklore and has taken five years to complete. During this time, 40,000 Latvian folk beliefs, or medical records, have been studied. Of these, more than 1,900 have been selected to form the base of the thesis.

The 2021/2022 academic year will commence on Monday, 30 August in the Rīga Stradiņš University courtyard and the adjacent Inspiration Park. We will greet all new 1st year students and enjoy musical performances.

1st-year students will recieve information about meetings with Faculty management via e-mail.

The event will be streamed live on the RSU website.

We will be complying with all national epidemiological safety conditions and encourage you to celebrate responsibly!
