In recent years, facing global crises such as the pandemic, ongoing wars, climate change, and other transformations, the number of young people experiencing various mental health issues— including anxiety and depression—has increased both in Latvia and worldwide. A research team from Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Riga Technical University (RTU) is collaborating on a National Research Programme (NRP) project to better understand youth mental health post-pandemic.
For the first time, Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) will offer visitors the opportunity to take part in military medicine and dental simulations at the Skola 2025 education fair. For the first time, young people will also be able to learn about the RSU Latvian Academy of Sport Education (RSU LASE).

Continuing our series of articles on tenured professors at Riga Stradiņš University (RSU), we now introduce Shaju Jacob Pulikkotil, a tenured professor at the Faculty of Dentistry.
Members of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Alumni Association are invited to attend the association's extraordinary general meeting on Tuesday, 25 February 2025 at 16:00 in the Senate Hall.
The purpose of the general meeting is to review past events and engage in a discussion about the most significant moments in the lives of RSU alumni.
A key outcome of Rīga Stradiņš University’s (RSU) internal consolidation last year was the establishment of the new Faculty of Social Sciences. Officially launched on 6 February 2024, the faculty merged the faculties of Communication, Law, and European Studies. It introduced an innovative governance system, fostered interdisciplinary research, consolidated study programmes, and enhanced resource efficiency. Other reforms were also implemented.
Congratulations to our colleagues at the Faculty of Social Sciences on their first anniversary!
