Doctors have long been uncertain about how to help women with premature cervical shortening, which puts them at risk of premature birth or losing the baby.

Egija Berga-Švītiņa will defend her doctoral dissertation on 20 September at 10.00 in an open meeting of the RSU Basic Sciences of Medicine, including Pharmacy doctoral committee on Zoom. Her dissertation is titled 'Identifying Genetic Factors Associated with Breast or Ovarian Cancer Risk in BRCA1 Pathogenic Variant Carriers'.
