Ieva Puzo and Christian Ritter, leaders of the Migration and Mobility working group of the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore, are organising the two-day anthropological conference on human mobility in collaboration with researchers from RSU and the FLPP project (Re)moving Ties.
An online workshop "How to understand cohort and case-control study papers" will take place on Wednesday, 17 April, led by Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Visiting Professors in Family Medicine Michael Harris (UK) and Hans Thulesius (Sweden).
The workshop is intended for doctors, residents, students and anyone interested in using cohort and case-control research methods/outcomes in practice or research.
On 2 and 3 April, the Minister for Health Hosams Abu Meri, the management of Riga East Clinical University Hospital and Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) paid a work visit to Johns Hopkins Hospital. During the visit, an agreement was reached with the hospital on cooperation and exchange of experience in the digitisation of inpatient data, improvement of the care system and the use of simulation technologies in the training process.
On 2 April, the Cabinet of Ministers approved amendments to the Decree on Reorganisation of the Latvian Academy of Sport Education, which provides for the consolidation of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and the Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE) as of 1 July this year.
Alise Balcere will defend her doctoral dissertation on 2 May at 15.00 in an open meeting of the RSU Clinical Medicine doctoral committee in the Hippocrates Auditorium in the RSU Main Building (16 Dzirciema iela) and on Zoom. Her dissertation is titled “Diagnostic and Treatment Aspects of Actinic Keratoses”.
Laura Šāberte will defend her doctoral dissertation on 24 April at 15.00 in an open meeting of the RSU Law doctoral committee in the Hippocrates auditorium at 16 Dzirciema iela and on Zoom. Her dissertation is titled “The Right of Patient and Physician to Express their Religious Beliefs during Medical Treatment”.
In this lecture, Assoc. Prof. Sergio Uribe will share his experiences on effective research data management and the use of AI tools. Prof. Uribe has used research data management extensively in his work and will provide valuable advice on relevant topics.
Kristina Gemzell Danielsson has been working as a visiting professor in the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the second academic year in a row. She is the head of the Department of Women's and Children's Health at Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden.
