About the lecture
For thousands of years, maps have played an important role in human mobility and survival. However, our increasing reliance on digital navigation tools is undermining our innate cognitive spatial abilities. What happens if using digital tools causes us stress, and we fail to function optimally, make mistakes and become frustrated? How do stress and emotions affect our perception of space when we use digital devices?

Students at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) celebrated a night of enchantment and camaraderie at the Winter Ball on December 9, 2023, hosted at the historic Riga Latvian Society House. The event, which was organised by the RSU Student Union (Studējošo pašpārvalde, SP) together with the International Student Association (ISA) aimed to unite Latvian and international students, creating an atmosphere filled with dance, laughter, and shared moments.
Legionellae or Legionella spp. are pathogens found in water that can cause the infectious disease legionellosis. Its manifestations vary from light fever (Pontiac fever) to more severe and potentially lethal pneumonia (Legionnaires' disease). However, it is important to remember that this disease is preventable.
The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) mixed choir, Rīga, has returned home with a diploma and the Golden Angel Statuette after winning in the mixed choir category in the Krakow Advent & Christmas Choir Festival in Poland earlier this December.

Colistin is a kidney-damaging (nephrotoxic) antibacterial agent. It is currently used in several countries, including Latvia, for critically ill patients due to the spread of multidrug-resistant Gram-negative (Gr-) bacterial infections. Unfortunately, there are currently limited alternatives treating these severe infections. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the proper use of available agents, which includes correct dosing, to minimise the potential development of colistin resistance.
