Lienes Neimane will defend her doctoral dissertation on 15 August at 11:00 in an open meeting of the RSU Law Degree Committee in the Hippocrates Auditorium (16 Dzirciema iela) as well as online. Her dissertation is titled 'Criminal Legal and Procedural Problems and Prospects for Improvement in Preventing and Combating Money Laundering'.
On 3 July, new results of an analysis of the best universities from the 13 European Union (EU) Member States that have joined the EU since 2004 (EU13) were released at the Times Higher Education (THE) European University Summit, which took place from 3 to 5 July in Warsaw (Poland). According to this analysis, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) ranks 14th of the top 30 universities.

On Monday, 28 August at 15.00, the opening ceremony of the new 2023/2024 academic year will take place in the courtyard of Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) main building at 16 Dzirciema iela.

From 26 June to 3 July, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) held summer graduation ceremonies. 1,208 graduates from Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral study programmes from eight faculties, the International Student Department and the RSU Liepāja Branch received their diplomas. The graduation ceremonies were held in person in the RSU backyard next to the Inspiration Park, in the RSU Great Hall and in the Rose Hall of the Liepaja Olympic Centre.
Educational institutions, NGOs, and associations planning to organise conferences, lecture series, seminars, workshops, or other types of training between January and August 2024 are invited to involve a US expert or guest speaker in their project. Their participation would be funded by the Baltic-American Dialogue Programme.
Darja Ņesteroviča-Petrikova, researcher at the RSU Military Medical Research and Study Centre (MMPSC) and doctoral candidate at RSU, won 3rd place in the Young Researcher Competition of the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering for her paper Effects Of Tactical Boots On Foot And Ankle Biomechanics. The competition was held within the frame of the 19th Nordic-Baltic Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics.
Dr.Una Aleksandra Bērziņa-Čerenkova is a political scientist, China researcher, Head of the China Studies Centre at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Head of the Asia programme at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs, and member of the European Think-tank Network on China.
In early June, the civil-military medical exercise Panaceja 2023 took place in and around Riga. The aim was to test the readiness of the 1st Riga Brigade of the National Guard to provide medical assistance in the event of a military threat with a large number of casualties. The cooperation between the responsible services and medical institutions was improved during the exercise in order to strengthen the Latvian defence system.
