Prof. Udo Rolle will share his experience and knowledge on paediatric surgical oncology on Thursday, 18 January.
Prof. Rolle is Head of Paediatric Surgical Department at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, Department of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology.
Olga Valciņa will defend her doctoral dissertation on 28 December at 15:00 in an open meeting of the RSU degree committee of Basic Sciences of Medicine, including Pharmacy. Her dissertation is titled 'Prevalence, Genetic Diversity, and Virulence Potential of Legionella spp.'

When a patient suffers from a neurodegenerative disease such as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's, their brain and nerve cells gradually deteriorate leading to impaired memory, cognitive function, and range of movement. The timely diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases is a major challenge of the 21st century in Europe and worldwide.
In February 2024, Latvia will host the Latvian Brain Bee olympiad for the third time. The event will be organised by the Neurology Development Foundation, and the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Scientific Interest Group in Neurology and Neurosurgery in collaboration with the RSU Academy of Junior Doctors.
On 6 December, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) received a special award for growth at the Latvian Sustainable Governance Awards 2023 ceremony at the Bank of Latvia. The information submission stage for the Health Care study direction implemented at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been successfully completed – RSU has submitted documents for evaluation to the Quality Agency for Higher Education and received a visit by a group of international accreditation experts.

Laura Līpenīte, a 6th-year student in the Paediatrics study programme at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Medicine, is characterised by her inexhaustible energy, perseverance, and ability to take initiative.
