Ieva Bikava will defend her doctoral dissertation on 23 February at 13:00 in an open meeting of the RSU Political Sciences Degree Committee in the Hippocrates Auditorium (16 Dzirciema iela) as well as online. Her dissertation is titled 'Health Policy Reform in Latvia from 1990 to 2020 in Perspective of Historical Institutionalism'.
Lucas Risters is a 4th-year medical student from Germany and the UK. Prior to being elected President of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Student Association (ISA), he was the Assistant to the Head of Sports and Integration.
The grand opening of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Pharmaceutical Education and Research Centre will take place on 31 March 2023, at 14:00, on 21 Konsula iela (next to the RSU Main Building).
The 7,151 m² multi-storey building, which is being built with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund, will house modern study facilities and a world-class science centre, including a research laboratory for finished dosage forms.
The 9th International Student Conference Health and Social Sciences (ISC) will take place at Riga Stradins University (RSU) on 27 and 28 March. The conference, one of the largest scientific events in Northern Europe, attracts more than 3000 participants from at least 35 countries each year and is organised by RSU students
The aim of the conference is to encourage students to get involved in research, to broaden their competences, and meet student researchers from other countries.
The inauguration ceremony for the Rector of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Prof. Aigars Pētersons, will take place on on Thursday, 31 March, 2023 at 15:30. The ceremony will be held in the RSU Great Hall (16 Dzirciema iela).
Associate Professor Marta Urbāne (pictured) has been the Acting Dean of the Faculty of European Studies until now. On 10 January 2023, she was appointed Dean for the next five years. Assoc. Prof. Urbāne has worked at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) since 2009. In her new position, she plans to create an international study environment based on respect, cooperation, and academic integrity.
At the end of 2022, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) joined the State Blood Donor Centre’s social responsibility campaign Asins draudzība 2022 (Blood Friendship 2022). Part of the campaign was a competition for Latvian Universities. RSU students and employees, their relatives, friends, and colleagues participated in the competition by indicating that they represented RSU when donating blood.
