Tuvākā gada laikā Austrumu slimnīcā taps lielākais RSU klīniskais studiju centrs Latvijā

Earlier this month Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Riga East Clinical University Hospital (RAKUS) signed an agreement on long-term cooperation, which foresees the construction of a RSU study base within the premises of Riga East Clinical University. The construction of the study base that will offer modern training facilities for RSU students and RAKUS staff, will be completed by January 2019. This willbe the first clinical study centre of such scale in Latvia.

 

Natālija Šilova

Last year 4th year dentistry student Natālija Šilova took the position of Head of the Student Council at Rīga Stradiņš University.  This year she chose not to run for re-election as she has resolved to devote more of her time to academic issues and dentistry studies.  

This year the duties of the head of the Student Council have been entrusted to Linda Skulme. Natālija is looking for new challenges, she cannot sit idle and requires constant movement.

On 15 January 2018 at 15:00 in an open meeting of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Promotion Council to be held in the Hippocrates Lecture Theatre (16 Dzirciema Street, Riga) Anatolijs Požarskis will defend his doctoral thesis “Peculiarities of the development and diagnosis of late-onset hypogonadism in men in case of chronic diseases – arterial hypertension, dyslipidaemia, adiposity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and combinations thereof”.

On 11 January 2018 at 15:00 in an open meeting of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Medical Promotion Council to be held in the Hippocrates Lecture Theatre (16 Dzirciema Street, Riga) Gunta Sumeraga will defend her doctoral thesis “The role of neuropeptides and neurogenic inflammation in the isolated postnasal drip syndrome”.

To prolong the useful life and be well equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills for the restoration of fluid preserved specimen collections of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Anatomy Museum, from 11 – 14 December the volunteer at RSU Anatomy Museum Marika Garnizone, a lecturer of histology at the Institute of Anatomy and Anthropology, Department of Morphology, took part in a training course on the preservation and conservation of fluid-preserved specimens organized by the National Oceanography Centre, University of Southampton (UK).
