Clinical and Laboratory Immunology (RLA_026)
About Study Course
Objective
To prepare laboratory doctors capable of using immunological examination methods using necessary equipment, procedures and observing examination rules. To obtain theoretical and practical knowledge on most important parameters characterising human immunity, to interpret the obtained results and to be able to choose further examination tactics. To be able to act, if critical values are obtained. To master internal and external quality control principles of immunological examination methods.
Learning outcomes
1.- to characterise the structure and main functions of the immune system;
- to describe possibilities of using different methods in diagnostics of immune system diseases;
- to evaluate the most essential parameters characterising human immunity;
- to describe mechanisms of immune system disorders.
1.- to perform laboratory examinations for diagnostics of immune system diseases: ELISA, IFA.
- to perform HLA typing using molecular biological methods;
- to perform autoantibody tests;
- to interpret immunological tests and their prognostic significance.
1.To perform laboratory diagnostics of immune system diseases. To use modern technologies and methods, diagnostic criteria and examination algorithms for diagnostics and differential diagnostics of diseases. To interpret results and to recommend further examination activity to clinicians.
