Objective

Familiarise students with current directions and recent achievements of sports biology research conducted worldwide, as well as increase their ability to independently analyse and critically evaluate sports biology research data.

Prerequisites

Basics of biomedical sciences (anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics; biochemistry, physiology, sports and exercise physiology) at bachelor or master level.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Analyses and interprets knowledge in the fields of sports biology (functional morphology, kinesiology and biomechanics, sports nutrition and cinematography).

Skills

1.The research methods used in the laboratories of sports biology, exercise physiology and kinesiology and biomechanics shall be chosen in a reasoned manner.

Competence

1.Generate ideas and use them creatively in the context of research in the field of sports biology.
