Objective

Integrate the knowledge acquired in previous study courses into pathogenesis mechanisms of clinical symptoms, understand the clinical decision-making process and interdisciplinary integrity.

Prerequisites

Biochemistry, Pathology, Physiology, Propaedeutics and Endocrinology (Internal Diseases Course in Nephrology, Gastroenterology and Endocrinology).

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On completion of the study course, the student will be able to name and describe the endocrine diseases mentioned in the study course description, to formulate the definition of these diseases, key classification (-s), symptoms, the course of the disease, diagnostic criteria, examination plan, principles of treatment including non-medical, prognosis and prevention options.

Skills

Upon completion of the study course, students will be able to interpret clinical and biochemical parameters, relate them to a specific clinical situation and link them to the overall examination process; have a good grasp of examination reports, indicators and interpret the result; recognize the syndromes mentioned in the programme and understand the nosology and problems related to it, differentiate between them.

Competence

Competence acquired will allow prioritization of activities and structuring of work tasks so that their fulfilment improves the patient's health within the shortest possible time by rational use of available resources.
