About Study Course
Objective
To ensure the acquisition of the sub-specialty of radiology for the implementation of the study programme in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the radiology specialty in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of radiologist, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.
Learning outcomes
1.• To formulate and briefly describe the radiological anatomy and congenital normal variants of the selected sub-specialty of radiology.
• To name, recognise and radiologically describe the main pathologies and their differential diagnosis in the chosen sub-specialty of radiology.
• To define the indications, limitations, contraindications and examination algorithms of radiological examinations in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of pathologies of the chosen sub-specialty of radiology.
• To name and briefly describe the types of radiological examinations and their technical parameters in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of the main pathologies in the relevant sub-specialty of radiology.
• To list and formulate the types of treatment, complications and radiological diagnosis of the main pathologies in the chosen sub-specialty of radiology.
1.• To justify, fully master radiological examination techniques, describe radiological examinations (roentgenography, roentgenoscopy, ultrasonography, CT, MRI) according to internationally accepted guidelines for the evaluation of normal and pathological radiological data obtained in the chosen sub-specialty.
1.• To evaluate and justify radiological examinations in detail and accurately in the chosen sub-specialty of radiology.
• To plan, evaluate and justify the choice of each radiological diagnostic method in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of a specific pathology in the chosen sub-specialty of radiology.
