Objective

Acquaint doctoral students with the guidelines of modern ethics in healthcare and research and their application in practice – current challenges and possible solutions, develop ethically justified attitudes toward towards patients and colleagues, as well as other people involved in medicine and research.

Prerequisites

In Philosophy of medicine, bioethics.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Know terminology of ethics, regulatory documents related to health care and research processes, basic principles and codes of ethics.

Skills

Know key issues related to health care and research ethics, able to address problems, identify ethical challenges related to the context of biomedical research, analyse cases and analyse ethical issues related to the research design, evaluate the ethical arguments used in the description of biomedical research.

Competence

Knowledge of key issues related health care and research ethics, problem resolution, identification of ethical challenges in research, analysis of research design, evaluation of ethical arguments in the descriptions of biomedical research.
