Objective

To motivate students to acquire the chosen profession of a functional specialist, to provide basic information about the successful course of the study process at RSU and the organization of health care, rehabilitation medicine and social care in the country. To develop students' basic skills to critically analyze the scientific literature in the field of rehabilitation, to justify the importance of scientific research in the development of rehabilitation, to prepare students for independent research: to plan and implement quantitative research, to develop skills to create a research report.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of successful completion of the study course, students will be able to describe the goals, tasks and scientific foundations of their chosen functional specialist profession, will understand the legal aspects of the profession, will be familiar with the basic principles of health care, rehabilitation, social assistance and social insurance organization. Also, the student will acquire knowledge about the development of research and its importance in the industry, quantitative and qualitative research, regulatory acts regulating research.

Skills

As a result of successful completion of the study course, students will be able to navigate the principles of health care, rehabilitation and social assistance/insurance organization. Familiar with RSU study regulatory documents. Knows the principles of using the RSU library and databases. Also, the student will be able to formulate research questions; demonstrate skills in independent research of scientific literature, critically evaluate scientific publications in the specialty; understand, choose and justify the appropriate research design and methodology, taking into account ethical aspects; will learn the basic skills of creating a report on the conducted research.

Competence

As a result of successful completion of the study course, students will develop an understanding of the study process and the specialty of the chosen functional profession. Also, students will be able to practically use the acquired knowledge and skills when performing research tasks, critically read scientific publications in the specialty, prepare reports on research (written report, presentation, poster report).
