Objective

To acquire basics of Latvian in order to be able to communicate at basic level A1 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the English language. Without preliminary knowledge of Latvian.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Upon successful completion of the course, students will know:
• the lexical minimum of conversational themes,
• the most common language rules,
• the principles of question formation, including question words.

Skills

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to apply Latvian in study process and basic daily communication.

Competence

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to use Latvian language at basic level in daily communication.
