Objective

Promote the understanding of the doctoral students of legal policy, drafting of legal acts and their implementation, objective conditionality of legal policy; and the interaction of legal policy with the public administration system.

Prerequisites

Theory of Law, Politics and Law, Philosophy of Law.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Doctoral students are able to demonstrate that they are familiar with and understand the most topical conclusions of legal policy; have mastered legal policy planning, their essential ways, the strategy for drafting legislative acts and drafting proposals for amendments to legislative acts.

Skills

Doctoral students are able to independently evaluate and analyse the aims, objectives, content, possibilities of implementation of political documents (conventions, regulations, directives, concepts, guidelines, strategies, programmes, plans, information reports); to use the relationship of the analysed political documents with the topics of the selected and approved doctoral theses; to build a legal-political basis for the topicality and innovative approach of the selected topics for doctoral theses.

Competence

Doctoral students are capable of solving important legal policy tasks through independent, critical analysis, synthesis and evaluation, and they are able to demonstrate understanding of the legal and political framework; by acquiring in-depth knowledge and skills to enrich the theoretical and empirical part of the doctoral thesis with legal policy planning documents.
