About Study Course
Objective
To provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills and improvement in general practitioner specialty Terms of Reference, to prepare specialists who can provide a steady, continuous and comprehensive take care of patient and his family members and help the patient to make a choice between the offered health services, ensuring the patient's ability to better physical, mental and social activity, are able to assess the patient's health status, diagnose and treat diseases of favor after a certain competences. Learning outcomes
1.Acute and chronic syndromes and diseases: diagnosis, treatment tactics, observation and referral to specialists. There is a perception, knowledge and understanding of:
Ear, nose and throat diseases and syndromes:
- Pain in the ears,
- Discharge from the ears,
- Hearing loss,
- Disturbances, dizziness,
- Dysphonia,
- Throat
- Trauma.
Creative thinking or research and the operation of the interface between fields the intrinsic knowledge and understanding of the profession of general practitioner. Understands diagnostics (including laboratory, morphology, instrumental, neinstrumentālās and radiation diagnosis), differential diagnosis, a medical (clinical pharmacology, pharmacotherapy) and non-treatment (diet therapy, physiotherapy) treatment, rehabilitation and secondary prevention aspects of the medical sub-sectors. Able to make decisions, to solve complex health care, diagnosis and treatment-related situations. Able to organize research work in various fields of family medicine.

1.The acquired expertise allows justify decisions, if necessary, carry out additional analysis:
- Students are able to explain environmental change on the spread of disease in the population, to understand the preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic methods in this respect.
- Be able to evaluate the patient's complaints, their relationship with the patient's medical condition. There is a broad understanding of diseases and their risk factors, of the most common diseases in the population, chronic disease care, diseases due to disabilities for positions that require urgent assistance.
