Objective

To provide students with knowledge about different personality structures, normality and personality disorders – etiology, clinical symptoms, diagnostics and therapy. To provide students with knowledge, skills and competences that are needed to establish therapeutic doctor-patient relationship.

Prerequisites

Prior knowledge in previous study courses : Mental Health (1. st. g.), Psychosomatic Medicine (4. st. g.).

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of studying the subject students will acquire knowledge about personality development theories, different personality structures, sound personality and psychopathology: etiology, clinical symptoms, diagnostics, therapy.

Skills

As a result of completion of this study course, students will gain: skills to understand and use diagnostic criteria to diferentiate personality disorders; skills to establish therapeutic doctor-patient relationship.

Competence

As a result of studying the subject, students will acquire competence to understand indications for psychotherapy.
