Objective

The aim of the study course is to provide an opportunity to acquire the theoretical justification of preparation of extemporal drug dosage forms and acquire practical proficiency and skills which are necessary for the preparation of different dosage forms in pharmacy.

Prerequisites

Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Pharmacy, Mathematics, Plant and Animal Biology, Pharmacognosy, Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful completion of the course, the student will know the theoretical justification of preparation of extemporaneous dosage forms and general conceptions of pharmaceutical incompatibility; in the result of acquisition of the course, student will be able to answer questions about pharmaceutical compounding and clarify and justify the order of addition of all components for each dosage form.

Skills

Student will be able to prepare dosage forms quickly enough and with good quality in the result of acquisition of the course. The student will be able to apply methods of pharmaceutical technology for preparation of extemporaneous dosage forms. The student will be able to predict possible incompatibilities in different prescriptions.

Competence

On completion of the ocurse the student will be able to prepare different extemporaneous dosage forms in pharmacy.
