Objective

Provide students with integrated interdisciplinary knowledge in the Pilates method and develop training management skills for improving movement for people of different ages by applying Pilates equipment and combining their use with small exercise equipment. Enable students to acquire functional fitness and Pilates-based motion assessment tests within the competence of the trainer and, based on their results, to acquire the skills to create individually appropriate Pilates training programmes using functional Pilates equipment. Improve students’ understanding of the use of small exercise equipment as an additional tool for Pilates equipment.

Prerequisites

Sports training theory, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, basic physiotherapy, sports medicine, pedagogy, psychology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Students understand the principles of conducting individual classes using all Pilates studio equipment and small equipment.

Skills

1.Students independently collect a history and information about the person regarding the objectives of the client’s classes and perform tests to identify the functionality of the client’s movements.

Competence

1.Students build a training programme using Pilates studio equipment and small equipment based on their history and personal training goals, as well as functional test results.
