Objective

Prepare such police officers capable of taking decision and managing departments in emergencies. Familiarise with the regulatory framework, planning and operational procedure of special operations. The possibilities of international cooperation in the European Union and among the Baltic States are discussed within the course

Tasks:
Be prepared to take decisions and manage departments in emergencies; know issues related to legal circulation of weapons, explosives and special devices; acquire knowledge of advanced special tactics, developing and effectively using this knowledge in management of institutions under special circumstances.

Prerequisites

Compulsory study courses completed during 1st - 4th semesters: Police Rights, Special Tactics of Police, International Cooperation of Police, Criminal Law, and Administrative Law.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Gain in-depth knowledge of special operations, their types, handling emergencies with explosives and explosive devices, opportunities for international cooperation.

Skills

Analyse potential risks and hazards. Capable of working practically in emergency situations and managing special operations within the field of their professional activity.

Competence

Planning of work and managing of subordinates in emergency situations, as well as managing special operations within their scope of competence in the service according to their position.
