Objective

Ensure theoretical knowledge in diagnosis and treatment of somatoform disorders and practical skills in building of therapeutical relationships between physician and patient.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Demonstrate knowledge in clinical subject of psychosomatics and psychotherapy required for neurologist. Define etiology, pathogenesis clinical features and treatment of somatoform and adaptation disorders. Define the indications for specialised psychotherapeutical treatment. Ensure knowledges about therapeutical factors in physician - patient relationships.

Skills

1.Apply the acquired knowledge in clinical subject of psychotherapy in problem solving during every day care, ensure emergent care. Provide communication with patients based on acquired knowledges in psychotherapy. Ensure practical skills to create therapeutic relationships between patient and physician.

Competence

1.Formulate and critically analyse psychiatric and neurotic disorders in neurological patients. If necessary, formulate the indications and methods of psychotherapeutical assessment and treatment. Integrate the acquired knowledge of psychotherapy in neurologist’s clinical practice. Learn to create a therapeutic physician - patient relationship.
