Objective

To provide students with knowledge of the role of physical activity in health promotion and disease prevention, to develop an understanding of the impact of different types of training on the human body, as well as to develop skills to theoretically develop physical activity recommendation programmes for different target groups. Students apply the acquired knowledge by evaluating and applying physical activity in the implementation of a healthy lifestyle.

Prerequisites

Preliminary knowledge of physical activity is recommended, but it may also be acquired during the learning process in the study course.

Knowledge

1.Describes the role of physical activity in health maintenance and disease prevention based on the latest guidelines and studies.

Skills

1.Select and adjust exercises based on a person’s age, health status and physical fitness.

Competence

1.Develop a tailor-made physical activity recommendation programme for people of different ages and physical fitness.
