A number of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Latvian Academy of Sport Education (RSU LASE) researchers have received funding for their projects in the Postdoctoral, Researcher and Research and Development Grant Application Call announced late last year by(RSU and RSU LASE. The supported research covers various fields: pharmaceutics, oral health of Latvian children and adolescents, genetics, immunology, sports science and others.

The projects were evaluated by independent experts from abroad and the decision to support the research was taken by the RSU Project Board.

26 grant applications were submitted. Overall, all projects were rated good by the foreign experts, but taking into account the available funding, seven grants were approved for funding - one in the first priority and six in the second priority. The first priority is set to strengthen the external consolidation of the RSU in the areas of strategic specialisation of the RSU LASE. The second priority is for internal consolidation and excellence in the RSU's areas of strategic specialisation.
