Public Health

The Institute of Public Health at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is compiling reports on Latvian health policy, including an up-to-date summary of information on the measures that Latvia has adopted regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

The information is being prepared in collaboration with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies on behalf of the WHO Regional Office for Europe.

The newly created COVID-19 Health System Responce Monitor website provides information on decisions taken by most European countries, as well as the United States, Canada, Israel and Turkey to control the viral infection, changes in health care organisation, resources, as well as action taken in other sectors – supportive measures in the social sector, border controls, economic measures, etc.

The website also allows users to make comparisons between individual countries on measures taken and summaries of the most vital topics: infection control, available resources, the provision and funding of health care services, etc.
