On 7 May, during a ceremonial event at the Latvian National Museum of History, the Cabinet of Ministers' Letters of Commendation and the highest awards in the justice system – Medals of Honour – were presented. Among those recognised were three lecturers from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU).

Inese Lībiņa-Egnere, Minister of Justice and Chair of the State Honours Council of the Justice System, remarked: ‘The rule of law and justice prevail in Latvia not because it is the letter of the law, but because behind every law we see the person it serves. You, whose work we honour today, have not stopped at a job description or a formal duty.

Through your integrity, humanity, and sense of responsibility, you have helped strengthen confidence in the state, democracy, and the rule of law.

You have been able to see the individual, hear their story, and stand by their side. We can be truly proud of you, and you can be proud of what you have accomplished, as we continue to move towards an even stronger and more just Latvia.’
