As the end of the year approaches, a series of charity activities have been held at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). This Christmas, over 120 children at Māras centrs and crisis centres outside Rīga will receive packages with toys, games and sweets, prepared by RSU students. These gifts were donated during the Christmas Toy Drive charity campaign, run by the international students. Whereas this week, the baton is taken from the international students by the RSU Student Union, which invites all interested persons to get involved in Charity Week until 14 December, by preparing gifts for children at the state social care centre Rīga, donating items necessary for the animal shelter Labās mājas, and transferring a portion of the income gained from the Christmas Charity Fair run on 12 December at the disposal of the charity portal ziedot.lv.
