RSU teams shine: Robežsardze/RSU win Latvian championship title, strong results in volleyball, basketball and ice hockey
The main highlight from the latest sports results from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) – the Robežsardze/RSU men’s volleyball team has won gold at the Latvian Championship. The RSU women’s volleyball team secured a victory in their penultimate match before the championship decider, while the Mogo/RSU hockey team recorded one win and one loss. Robežsardze/RSU – Latvian champions
On Saturday, 11 April, Robežsardze/RSU claimed the Latvian volleyball championship title, defeating Ezerzeme/DU 3–1 in the third game of the final series and successfully defending their title.

Women’s volleyball – one step away from the title
The RSU women’s volleyball team moved closer to retaining the Latvian championship title, defeating Mārupe SC in four sets at Mārupe Sports School and taking a 2–0 lead.
The third and potentially decisive match will take place on Wednesday, 15 April, at 20:00 at the Rimi Olympic Centre. A win would secure the RSU team their third consecutive championship title.
Hockey – one win, one loss
Last week’s Latvian Higher Hockey League finals series resulted in one win and one loss for Mogo/RSU.
On 10 April, in the second game of the Optibet Hockey League finals at the Mogo Ice Hall, Mogo/RSU defeated Zemgale/LBTU 5–4 in a high-scoring match, securing the win in a game where they were the underdog.
On 12 April, in the third game of the series, Zemgale/LBTU won 3–1, bringing the series score to 2–1.
The fourth game will take place on Tuesday, 14 April, at 19:00 at the Jelgava Ice Hall.
Basketball – semifinal win
On 10 April, in the first semifinal game of the Ramirent National League men’s basketball playoffs, RSU/VEF Rīga defeated Kandava/Turība 125–98.
The next match will take place on Wednesday, 15 April, in Kandava at 19:30.
