This year, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is celebrating its 75th anniversary. This anniversary serves as a special occasion to unite efforts and resources to support diligent yet financially disadvantaged students, as well as to extend support to young people from Ukraine.
In anticipation of Latvia’s Proclamation Day on 18 November, outstanding professionals in the fields of research and education will receive government awards. On 28 October 2025, the government approved the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Science to present Letters of Recognition.
Based on the results of qualitative audience research, researchers from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) organised co-creation events in Latvia and Estonia at the end of October. Together with representatives of the journalism industry, they developed recommendations for media professionals and media policymakers aimed at reducing the gap between the media and society and promoting public trust in the media.
The Latvian Data Stewards Network invites all researchers in Latvia, including doctoral students and research assistants, to participate in a survey on knowledge, attitudes, and practices in open science and research data management. The survey aims to identify researchers' competencies, experience, and needs in data management and open science, to improve support services and training programmes.
On 10 October, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), together with the University of Latvia, the Latvian Biomedical Research and Study Centre, and the Children’s Clinical University Hospital, signed the Latvian National Memorandum of Understanding on Latvia’s Participation in the European Life Sciences Infrastructure for Biological Information Consortium (ELIXIR).

Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) continues to develop translational medicine capacity in Latvia and strengthen international research collaboration by signing two National Memoranda of Understanding on Participation in the EATRIS European Research Infrastructure Consortium (EATRIS-ERIC) with the Children’s Clinical University Hospital and Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital.
The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department invites students to become mentors for first semester international students who will be starting their studies at RSU in February 2026.
The aim of the Mentor Programme is to help international students integrate into the University and society, and to support new students as they begin their studies at RSU.
