This autumn, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Information Technology was voted Structural Unit of the Year at the 2022 RSU Annual Awards.
On Tuesday, 20 December, Assoc. Prof. Klāvs Sedlenieks gave a presentation at a scientific evening called Family and State – Entanglements or Oppositions? The event was organised by the Baltic-German University Liaison Office.

Tarass Ivaščenko will defend his doctoral dissertation on 23 January at 15:00 in an open meeting of the RSU Clinical Medicine Degree Committee online. His dissertation is titled 'GPx and MDA Oxidative Stress Markers and Severity of Depression as Predictives of Recurrent Stable Coronary Heart Disease'.

On 17 October 2022, the Chapter of Orders appointed Ilze Bārene, Professor Emeritus at the Department of Applied Pharmacy, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Pharmacy, as Commander of the Cross of Recognition. She has been working at RSU since February 1971.
On 17 December, a decisive match between two teams from Riga took place at the Rimi Olympic Centre. The Riga Volleyball School/LU team and the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU)/MSG took to the court for the 2022 Cewood Latvian Volleyball Cup.
Taka Tanabe is a 4th year medical student at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). His mother is from Sri Lanka and his dad is from Japan. Taka was born and raised in the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo, where he lived for 18 years before moving to Vietnam with his parents. They lived there for 1,5 years before Taka came to Riga to study.

The tax system is one of the crucial elements affecting the viability of the state. Alexey Leontyev, a PhD candidate at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is proposing an integrated approach to the taxation optimisation in his research.
