Record number of students admitted to RSU

The new academic year at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has begun with 1,500 freshmen, among them 510 international students – mostly from Germany, Sweden, Finland, and Norway.

In total, the University received individual 8,899 applications this year, which is 11% more than last year and the highest number in RSU's history. The number people who submitted applications reached an all-time high with 3,384 people applying to study at RSU.

Matriculation 2023

The new academic year 2023/2024 at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) began on Monday, 28 August, at 15.00, with an opening ceremony in the forecourt of the University's Main Building at 16 Dzirciema iela.

Students felt both elated and festive at the same time as they met with the university management and teaching staff, enjoyed a cake offered by the RSU Student Union (Studējošo pašpārvalde, SP), received their planners, and watched performances by the RSU folk dance ensemble Ačkups and the mixed choir Rīga.

Studijas RSU sāks rekordliels ārvalstu studentu skaits

Last week, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) hosted the traditional Orientation Week, which is organised before the start of each new academic year to give international students an opportunity to get acquainted with RSU and one another. Next week, 508 new students from 39 countries will start their studies at our university, which is a new record (in comparison, last year 420 international students from 35 countries began their studies at RSU). In total, more than 2,900 international students from 77 countries are currently studying at RSU.
