As per the amendments to the national Order on the State of Emergency that the Cabinet of Ministers approved of on 17 December, stricter restrictions now apply to sports activities and training. The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Sports Club will therefore close for in-person visits until 11 January, 2021.

Here are some highlights from the diverse set of international abstracts that have already been submitted to RSU Research Week 2021.
Starting from 14 December, prospective entrepreneurs can apply to INK, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Business Incubator B-Space incubation programme.
This year, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Business Incubator B-Space is going to help three recipients of the Riga City Council grant Rīgas drosmes grants (Riga Courage Grant) to kick start their careers as entrepreneurs. B-Space will provide support in the form of advice and give them the opportunity to participate in its incubation programme.
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has completed the five-year long Anatomy Museum project; the idea for the museum came about in 2015. Construction has now been completed and the exposition has been set up.
In 2015, RSU initiated the restoration of the historical stables of the Anatomical Theatre in order to set up an Anatomy Museum. The layout was designed in 2016 by architect Arvīds Līkops.
Break the ice and participate in Speed Friending! The event is organised to help local and international students meet one another in a low pressure, fun way. This is especially important now when opportunities to meet in person are limited.

In 2019, Paride Bollettin was a guest lecturer in the Social Anthropology study programme at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). He has been to Latvia twice, once in 2017 and then again in 2019, both times teaching entirely new courses to social anthropology students. Although originally from Italy, Bollettin was in São Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos in the state of Bahia in Brazil at the time of the interview where he has been working at the Federal University of Bahia for two years.
On 30 October 2020, the Chapter of Orders awarded Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Professor Jānis Zaļkalns, Head of Gerontology Clinic of Riga East University Hospital and lecturer at the RSU Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Diseases and Department of Family Medicine, with the Cross of Recognition and appointed him an Officer of the Order.
Dennis Buck is a student from Germany currently in his 7th semester of Medicine studies at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). He is the President of DSiA, the German student association at RSU. Jenna Vähäviita comes from Finland, and is in her 6th semester.
