On Tuesday 24 November, Egils Levits, the President of Latvia met with Professor Aigars Pētersons, the Rector of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Toms Baumanis, the Vice-Rector for Administration and Development at RSU.

We are happy and proud that the public transport stops in the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) area will now include the university in their names.
On 30 October, the Riga City Council decided that six stops in the vicinity of the university will bear its name.
On Thursday, 19 November the Minister of Health Ilze Viņķele presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Professor Ģirts Briģis. The Professor was congratulated by RSU Rector Prof. Aigars Pētersons, the Vice-Rector for Health Studies Guntis Bahs and Prof. Inga Millere, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health and Social Welfare.
On Tuesday, 17 November, the Ministry of Education and Science held a ceremony online at which Rīga Stradiņš University Professor Ludmila Vīksna was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Cabinet of Ministers.
Prof. Vīksna, who is the Head of the RSU Department of Infectology and a Corresponding Member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences, received this recognition for her contribution to research in the field of infectology and for studying topical public health issues.
Emma Tenge-Rietberg is one of the founders of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) US Student Association, and the Head of Cultural Events. She is currently in her 4th semester at RSU, and founded the society in 2019.

The closing event of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP, Studējošo pašpārvalde) council elections took place online on 14 November. After two weeks of applications and a week of voting, the new members of the SU council were finally announced. 1,625 students voted this year.

To promote innovation and encourage students, alumni and other interested parties to develop leadership skills and take their first steps towards entrepreneurship, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has launched its Business Incubator B-Space. B-Space is a safe environment where participants can develop brand new business ideas. Prospective entrepreneurs without a business idea but who have a desire to work in the field of business and innovation are also welcome at B-Space.
In order to reduce the health risk to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) students, staff and visitors, as well as the risk to the continuity of studies, research and scientific activity at RSU, additional safety measures have been implemented from 18 December. The new measures are based on the additional restrictions set by the Cabinet of Ministers on 17 December.
The following additional epidemiological safety measures were introduced at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) on 3 December in order to reduce the health risk to RSU students, staff and visitors, as well as the risk to the continuity of research and scientific activity at RSU.
The study process will take place remotely until 30 January 2021, with the following exceptions:
