One of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of contracting any kind of viral or bacterial disease is by washing your hands. Special attention is being paid to hand hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic. Advice and recommendations on hand hygiene are widely available in the media, in advertisements and from other sources. However, even if we do wash our hands regularly, it does not mean that we are protected from infection.
Determined to prove that significant socio-anthropological observations, which are important for a variety of fields, can come from the eastern part of Europe, Dace Dzenovska, an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford, has settled in at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) for the upcoming academic year.

On 11 October, an intergalactic memorial carnival will be held in many parts of the world to commemorate the popular American social anthropologist David Graeber who passed away on 2 September this year. The events will be held to honour his contribution to modern political and economic processes. Andris Šuvajevs, a lecturer at Riga Stradiņš University (RSU), will be presenting an online memorial lecture on Graeber on 11 October.
In order to ensure safe conditions on its premises, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) strongly advises all employees and students to use face masks while studying and working starting from 5 October 2020. This primarily applies to rooms, or offices, where a distance of 2m between persons cannot be ensured.
This request is related to the fact that blended learning will be in place from 5 October, combining in-person and remote classes.

The site visit by Latvian and international accreditation experts of the study direction Law will take place on 1 - 2 October 2020. During the visit, the quality and study environment of the study direction and the study programmes will be assessed.
During the course of the visit, meetings will be held with the management of the university, the study direction and the study programmes, with lecturers, graduates, students and employer representatives. The visit will have an impact on the term of the study direction's accreditation.
