Additional epidemiological safety measures will be introduced at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) between 9 and 23 November 2020 in order to reduce the health risks to RSU students, staff and guests, as well as the risk to the continuity of research and scientific activity at RSU.
For the period of 9 to 23 November, the study process will take place remotely, with the following exceptions:

On Thursday, 15 October, the Head of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Orthopaedics Prof. Andris Jumtiņš was awarded the Pauls Stradiņš Award for outstanding contribution to the development of orthopaedics in Latvia. This award is the highest honour in surgery in Latvia.
The laudatio was given by Asst. Prof. Silvestris Zēbolds from the RSU Department of Orthopaedics, followed by an academic speech on the Art of Orthopaedics by Prof. Andris Jumtiņš.
Autumn brings changes to the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union – it is time for the annual council elections. From 26 October to 6 November RSU students can run for election and bring new ideas to the student organisation that represents the interests of the students.
An online seminar 'Translational medicine – from the molecule to the patient', organised by EATRIS-LV, will take place on 24 November.
The following world-class experts will share their experience in realising translational medicine - Prof. Yehuda Shoenfeld from Tel Aviv Sheba Medical Center, Prof. Rejko Kruger from the University of Luxembourg, Prof. Pawel Zalewski from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun and Anton Ussi, EATRIS Operations and Finance Director. The seminar will take place remotely on Zoom.
