As of 16 October, applications are open to the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) B-Space Business Incubator’s pre-incubation programme (PINK). This programme is intended for RSU students, employees and anyone else who is interested in taking their first steps towards developing a business idea.

In recent weeks there has been a rapid spread of COVID-19 in Latvia. The situation is similar in many parts of Europe. Some coronavirus cases have also been identified among Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) students.
This year, the Latvian Medical Association Lecturer of the Year Award went to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Department of Biology and Microbiology Lecturer and Assoc. Prof. Rudīte Koka. What should you do in order to become lecturer of the year and is it better to work hard to win the award, or is it better not to know about the award at all? We have many questions, so we invited the winner of the award to a conversation.
From 15 October 2020, an exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) is on display in the lobby of the RSU Main Building at 16 Dzirciema iela. The exhibition is about the way the students, lecturers, scientists, and the administrative staff of RSU have been shaped by the university's study and academic environment, extracurricular events, and traditions as these interact with changing social and political systems over the course of seven decades.
The Federation of Security and Defence Industries of Latvia (FSDI) presented the Defence Industry Annual Prize in Education and Research on Wednesday, 7 October. First prize was awarded to Prof. Māris Taube, Lead Researcher at the Military Medicine Research and Study Centre at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). Doctoral student and researcher of the RSU Military Medicine Research and Study Centre, Darja Ņesteroviča, received second prize, and third prize went to Gatis Šūpols and Gatis Gaigals – researchers at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science.
On 18 - 20 September, students from the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of European Studies Department of International Business and Economics participated in a 48-hour Green Tech Copernicus Hackathon, which was held at Liepāja University. 66 students participated in the event. For three days the 16 teams looked for solutions to 16 challenges under the guidance of mentors. RSU was represented by two teams who won second and third place and valuable prizes.
A team of scientists consisting of radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, urologists, radiation therapists, oncologists, residents and students, have begun to implement the Fundamental and Applied Research Project ‘Impact of Targeted Molecular Imaging with FL-PSMA-1007 and 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT in Multimodal Evaluation of Recurrent Prostate Cancer’.
