Open Access Loan and Information Centre

Open Access Loan and the Information Centre are structural units of the RSU Library, located in the RSU Main Building (16 Dzirciema iela).

Open Access Loan provide modern and user-friendly library services, available 24/7. Designed as a multifunctional environment for both individual work and studies, it offers access to self-service equipment for borrowing and returning books, reading room facilities, as well as computers for search of information and study-related needs.   

Open Access Loan are located on the 1st floor of Block G, comprising information resources that can be borrowed for use at home. Loan periods are either for “one month” or “one semester,” and resources are also available for on-site use in the reading room. During the academic year, the Open Access Loan premises are available 24 hours a day, with the exception on certain public holidays. Outside the librarian’s working hours, a security guard is present in the Open Access Loan area to maintain order in the library. 

The self-service equipment enables users to check out books independently and conveniently, saving time and ensuring continuous access to services. The reading rooms are suitable for independent work and studies, while computers provide access to the internet, databases, and electronic resources. 

The Information Centre is located on the 2nd floor of Block G, but it is currently closed to visitors due to renovation works. 

The Information Centre will provide access to single-copy library information resources to be only used on-site in the library’s reading room. It will also offer facilities for both individual and group work.
