Objective

To strengthen and develop students' basic skills to conduct scientific research, to prepare them for research for obtaining a bachelor's degree in health sports, to further develop skills to substantiate the importance of scientific research in the development of the profession and to use research results in practice.

Prerequisites

Biometrics, basic research skills, knowledge of functional assessment tools in sport, sports medicine, ICF, public health.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of the successful acquisition of the study course, the student will deepen his / her knowledge of the research process, gain knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research, systematic review, as well as knowledge of regulatory enactments that regulate scientific activity in Latvia, RSU.

Skills

As a result of the successful acquisition of the study course the student will be able to formulate and substantiate the research problem; to prepare and defend a topic application for a bachelor's thesis; will increase skills in a systematic search of scientific literature and critical analysis of scientific publications, will be able to search for evidence in various sources of information for solving clinical issues.

Competence

As a result of the successful acquisition of the study course, students will be able to practically use the acquired knowledge and skills by critically analyzing scientific publications in the specialty, independently conducting research on the chosen topic and preparing a research report (written report, presentation, poster report).
