The joint Master's professional study programme, 'Economic Security', provides students with in-depth knowledge of economic security and how to ensure it in the course of economic activities, as well as develops skills to identify, prevent and detect risks arising from financial activities, analyse large volumes of information, and organise and manage their work and the work of their subordinates. The interdisciplinary nature of the programme ensures that students will acquire knowledge and skills in law, management, business, civil protection and internal security.
The interdisciplinary programme is aimed at preparing highly qualified specialists with the knowledge and skills required for the management of institutions and organisations, who are able and competent to assume responsibility and solve highly complex legal and economic problems, including the prevention, detection and investigation of economic crime, to develop and coordinate international cooperation, represent diverse interests and ensure sound decision-making in the field of economic security.
Objectives
- Promote professional and research activity in the field of economic security, using the theoretical foundations and skills acquired, independently obtaining, selecting, analysing and critically evaluating information, identifying problem situations and proposing possible solutions.
- Provide students with the basic and specialised knowledge of economic security specific to the manager of an organisation, to explain the most important concepts and regularities of the professional field.
- Provide students with the professional skills necessary for the professional organisation manager in the field of economic security.
Skills and competences
Able to critically evaluate theory and practice, and legal methods in order to improve the conduct of research in the field of economic security and to propose original solutions to professional problems within the economic context of civil security, i.e. by considering economic security systemically as a component of national civil security.
Able to group, qualify and compare knowledge from different fields, which allows to analyse current problem situations in the field of economic security in a broad comparative context and to propose non-standard solutions by applying and integrating them in practice, in the detection and investigation of relevant crimes.
Develop an understanding of what economic security is in a specific organisation, in the country and in the world in general, and able to manage an organisation, solve problems and justify decisions, including the preparation of necessary documents, and able to use information and communication technologies to address professional issues in the organisation.

- National and International Legal Framework for Credit Institutions;
- Strategic Resource Management;
- Analysis and Management of Prevention of Money Laundering, Terrorism and Proliferation Financing;
- Analysis of Open Sources and Data;
- Characteristics and National and International Aspects of Prevention of Economic and Financial Crime under Criminal Law;
- Economic Cybercrime and Security;
- Interpersonal Psychology and Negotiation and Professional Relationship Building Skills, etc.
The study programme also includes placement.
Study environment and methods
Environment
Studies take place in modern lecture halls and using technological tools (Zoom, etc.).
Methods
The study process involves lectures, seminars, independent research work (reports), group work and presentation of work results. The form of knowledge testing is an examination. Knowledge is broadened during placement.
Admission requirements
Professional Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, economics, finance, organisation security, internal security and civil protection, police work or law.
