If you are a bachelor’s, professional studies, master’s, doctoral or residency student, or a student of a vocational or general education institution, create a business idea and a team, join the RSU business incubator B-Space incubation programme (INK), and compete for a cash prize of 3000 EUR!

The incubation programme gives student teams the opportunity to learn entrepreneurship, test their business ideas, create a prototype or MVP, and build valuable professional connections. This year, all teams accepted into the programme will begin with European co-funding of up to 3506 EUR. Within this funding, RSU will provide the materials, consultations, services, and other resources needed to test and develop ideas.

At the end of the programme, teams will present their ideas, and the three best teams will also receive a 3000 EUR cash prize to further develop their ideas.

Teams of 2 to 5 members may apply. Each team must include at least one student or high school pupil, as well as one RSU representative: a student, staff member, or a graduate of the last three years. Teams must also have a single, clearly defined business idea that they plan to develop during the programme.

INK will be taking place from February to June and will include online sessions on product and customer validation, financial and business models, attracting investment, and the steps of starting a company, as well as training in effective pitching and presentation skills. Alongside the sessions, teams will be testing their solutions, creating prototypes, sketches, and MVPs, and work closely with mentors, experts, and team facilitators.

To help the interested participants prepare, two online informational events will also be organised:

  • 6 January at 18:00 – live Q&A session on the B-Space Facebook page about the structure and benefits of the incubation programme;
  • 7 January at 17:00 – webinar on the allocation of EU funding when starting the INK programme. During the webinar, participants will be able to ask key questions about building a successful budget plan and using the funding effectively throughout the programme..

More information about upcoming events can be found on the B-Space Facebook page

For several years, B-Space has been building a strong community of young entrepreneurs and can point to standout startup success stories among its graduates. The Coffee Society team has opened its own coffee shop in the centre of Riga and has been operating successfully for over a year, while DRTY Boards in Liepāja produces surfboards for Baltic Sea. These and other success stories show that the incubator is a place where ideas can grow into sustainable businesses.
