The European Institute of Innovation and Technology's Health Knowledge and Innovation Community (EIT Health) has announced the EIT Health RIS Innovation Call 2023. Its purpose is to fund the proof of concept phase of high-quality, strong, and balanced health care innovation projects.

Projects should address one or more of the following focus areas:

  1. brain and mental health;
  2. infectious diseases;
  3. fostering healthier lives;
  4. harnessing real-world data.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • funding of up to 75,000 EUR;
  • tailored mentorship from a pool of 400 experts;
  • online bootcamps;
  • support for project visibility;
  • opportunity to form partnerships with representatives from business, research, and academia.

This programme is open to all legal entities such as business organisations, academic-, research-, and healthcare institutions that:

  • are registered in an EIT RIS Country (Latvia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and/or Slovenia);
  • has a collaboration of at least two legal partners within the same country, where business and academic or research or healthcare institutions are represented as partners.
Application deadline: 12 October, 2022.

Applicants will have to provide a letter of support from their local EIT Health Hub before submitting their application. The EIT Health Hub in Latvia is managed by the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Department.
