The traditional Chinese Lantern Festival or Yuánxiāo Jié marks the end of more than two weeks of Chinese New Year celebrations. The lantern festival is traditionally held on the fifteenth date of the first month when the first full moon of the Chinese year is visible. In contrast to the Chinese New Year that is celebrated at home with family members, the Lantern Festival is a public gathering, which, due to its joyous mood, is particularly loved by the young generation.

The event is organised by the RSU China Studies Centre and will be held in the canteen of the RSU central building (Dzirciema 16).

Everyone warmly welcome!
