QS-Ranked-100-lead.jpgThe latest international QS World University Rankings has listed Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) among the leading 801-1000 universities in the world.

Last year RSU was ranked among the top 1000 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings for the first time. Although RSU was already listed among the leading 801-1000 universities, QS data shows a clear improvement in performance over the last year and their evaluation rose to 75%. RSU earned most praise for its ability to attract international students and develop study programmes in English.

QS World University Rankings lists the best 1000 universities from 85 countries based upon six criteria: academic reputation, reputation as an employer, number of citations, faculty to student ratio, the ratio of international faculty, and the ration of international students. Two other Latvian universities are included in this year’s ranking in addition to RSU.

The long-term development strategy that RSU is following accounts for its rise in the international university rankings. For the past years RSU has managed to achieve a breakthrough in improving and modernising its study environment and teaching aids, strengthening the quality of its study programmes, introducing up-to-date simulation technologies, investing into research and becoming a leader in internationalisation. The accomplishments of RSU have been praised by external experts and appreciated in Latvia – RSU retains its lead in the reputation rankings among Latvian institutions of higher education for the third year running (research by KANTAR).
