On 30 April 2025 at 11:00, the Ministry of Health will present Letters of Commendation and Gratitude to professionals in the health sector in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the fields of public health, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. The event will take place in the Great Hall at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). Twelve RSU colleagues will also be among those honoured.

Recipients of the Ministry of Health Letter of Commendation

Prof. Anda Brinkmane, Head of Dental Clinic of the RSU Institute of Stomatology, Head of Department of Conservative Dentistry and Oral Health of the Faculty of Dentistry, for her long-standing development of paediatric dentistry and methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dental diseases.

Elīna Aleksējeva, Paediatric Allergist, Pulmonologist at the Children’s Clinical University Hospital, Lecturer at the RSU Department of Paediatrics, for her contribution to improving the quality of treatment at the Children's Hospital. 

Asst. Prof. Dzintars Mozgis at the RSU Institute of Public Health, Deputy Director of the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, for his long-standing contribution to the systematisation and classification of health data, for his preparatory work on the European Health Data Space Regulation and for the professional development and knowledge transfer of the Centre's staff. 

Asst. (acting) Inta Višņevska of the RSU Department of Nursing and Midwifery, Chief Nurse of 4th Unit of the Children’s Clinical University Hospital, for her contribution to promoting and improving the development of healthcare processes.

Ineta Roziņa, Psychiatrist at Ģintermuiža Hospital, Head of the Department of Neurosis, organiser of the RSU residency process at the clinical learning centre, for her significant contribution to the treatment of psychiatric patients.

Elita Meļķe, Chief Nurse at 17th Unit of the Department of Psychiatric Help Service of the National Mental Health Centre, Lecturer at the RSU Department of Nursing and Midwifery for her honest, creative and long-term work, as well as for her contribution to the development of the health sector in the field of psychiatry and narcology.

Kristīne Karlsone, Nurse and Lecturer at the RSU Department of Rehabilitation, for her significant contribution to the promoting of development of the nursing profession quality. 

Māra Vīksna, Chief-Nurse of Zemgale Health centre, Lecturer at the RSU Department of Nursing and Midwifery, for her long-term, diligent and excellent service in the healthcare sector. 

Olga Kožinova, Occupational Therapist at the 4th Unit of the National Rehabilitation centre Vaivari, Lecturer at the RSU Department of Rehabilitation, for her significant contribution to the field of health care and outstanding work in patient care, education and research. 

Karīna Cacivkina, Nurse at Professor Skride Heart Clinic, Lecturer at the RSU Department of Nursing and Midwifery, for her professional work in patient care and training of new colleagues.

Toms Karasevs, Emergency Medicine Assistant Doctor, lecturer at the RSU Red Cross College, for his contribution to the development of emergency medicine, training of colleagues and provision of high-quality emergency medical care. 


The Ministry's awards are presented twice a year: before the Latvian National Days in May and November.
