Recognition

The last few weeks of the year have brought good news. Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) received the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (AmCham Latvia) Annual Award 2022 for its active work and contribution to strengthening the healthcare system. AmCham has been operating since 1993, when it was founded by 27 US investors. Its nearly 150 members include companies with direct trade ties to the US, as well as other international and local companies that support the Chamber's mission and goals.

We joined the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia to work with other healthcare organisations to advance issues that are important to us – adequate financing for health, re-using health data, digitisation of health, and personalised medicine.

Agrita Kiopa, RSU Vice-Rector for Science

The Vice-Rector emphasises that RSU actively operates in the healthcare group by promoting research, contributing to the development of the value-based healthcare concept and organising the Precision Medicine Networking Forum.  Membership in AmCham fosters the involvement of the Chamber's members in events organised by RSU, such as Research Week.

The Chamber’s actions are grounded in four core values: integrity, responsibility, cooperation, and excellence. Its mission is to foster and strengthen trade, investment, partnership, and friendship between the United States and Latvia. AmCham aims to serve as a forum for business, knowledge, networking, and policy for its members, partners and representatives of the international business community in Latvia. AmCham also advocates to improve the business and investment environment in Latvia.
