Graduate Medical Training

‘Residents have the opportunity to learn laparoscopic surgery techniques on living tissue, in conditions that are made to be as close to being in a real operating theatre as possible. There is an operating room nurse, instruments, and the latest technology. But above all, students get to experience a sense of responsibility because they are working with real tissue. There is no going back, you cannot rewind and try again’, says Aleksandrs Maļcevs, Assistant Professor at Rīga Stradiņš University and Member of the Board of the Doctors Safe Train Foundation. This is a joint foundation between Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
