For the third year in a row, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has steadily maintained its position in the 801–1000 group in the QS World University Rankings 2021, an international ranking of institutions of higher education. Despite its steady place in the overall ranking, RSU improves its performance every year according to QS data.

RSU's ability to attract international students is valued most highly. This is one of the six QS indicators that characterises the university. The proportion of international students at RSU is at a level that has allowed the university to reach 168th place in the world. Two performance indicators that have also improved is the increase in the share of international academic staff and RSU’s reputation among employers.

This year, as in the previous year, only three Latvian universities were included in the QS World University Ranking – RSU, as well as Riga Technical University and the University of Latvia. In total, this year's ranking includes 1,002 of the best universities in the world from 93 countries.

QS World University Rankings is the best-known global rating by the higher education company QS. A new QS EECA rating will be released in the autumn, in which a list of the best universities in specific regions will be published.
