According to the recently published QS World University Rankings 2022, RSU ranked in the 801-1,000 range in the overall ratings. QS Rankings rated the university’s ability to attract international students the highest, moving the university up by 35 places and ending up in 133rd place in the world.

QS data also indicates that RSU’s reputation among employers is also significantly higher this year. This confirms that employers welcome the knowledge, skills and competences that RSU students acquire during their studies.

In general, RSU’s results have increased in three categories this year: proportion of international students; teacher/student ratio; employers' reputation assessment. More about RSU in the QS rankings.

QS uses six metrics for evaluating the world's best universities. One is to look at the proportion of students to teaching staff at the university, which makes it possible to assess the quality of studies, another is to look at the QS Employer Survey to see how prepared graduates are to enter the labour market. A no less important indicator is to see how international a university is. The more diverse a university is, the better it can provide opportunities and an environment for students to exchange views and opinions and broaden their horizons.

The announcement of the QS World University Rankings results coincides with the higher education institution admissions period in Latvia. This helps prospective students ascertain whether their chosen university is among the best in the world.

Every year there is fierce competition to be listed in this internationally recognised ranking, and previous results do not guarantee automatic entry into next year's rankings. QS includes no more than 1,100 to 1,300 top universities from around the world in the university ranking list each year.
