RSU welcomes 50 doctors and lecturers from Ukraine

September 17, 2019, Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) had an honor to welcome 50 representatives from spheres of medicine, medical education, health care and culture in Ukraine.
Ukrainian delegation visited the university within the project “European Values and Competence in education and health care establishments: implementation and monitoring”. Project is implemented by the Ministry Culture of Ukraine and the All Ukrainian Youth Public Organization “Heart to Heart” in order to give a possibility for Ukrainians from all regions of Ukraine to learn an international experiences in humanitarian spheres by visiting medical and health care higher education institutions and public organizations of interest in Warsaw, Vilnius and Riga from September 15 to September 19.

Ms Ilze Zvēra from RSU International Department gave a warm welcome to our guests and introduced the university and it’s role in a medical education in Latvia, paying attention to the multicultural study environment and community here at RSU. Asoc. Profesor Mr Dzintars Mozgis from Department of Public Health and Epidemiology on the other hand gave a broad overview about the health system in Latvia.

After the presentations our guests visited RSU Medical Education and Technology Centre and highly appreciated the given possibility to see the simulator systems for medical practitioners and students to enhance their skills and ensure more effective healthcare.

Ukrainian visit was organized in respect to the Ukrainian-Latvian relationships in different spheres of public life.
